google tasks · notion · two-way sync

Tasks live
in two places. Orbit keeps them in sync.

Add a task on your phone — it shows up in Notion. Change it in Notion — Google Tasks knows 15 minutes later. One source of truth instead of watching two lists — deployed directly on your own Google account, nothing to copy by hand.

01 — the problem

Doing it twice
means forgotten tasks.

typing the same thing
15
minutes to a matching state
10
task lists in the standard setup

Tasks from your phone (Google Tasks) and your company's system of record (Notion) end up as two independent sources of truth — until someone forgets to copy one into the other.

Orbit syncs them both ways — whatever you add on one side shows up on the other within 15 minutes. No manual re-typing, no "did I actually do this, or just write it down."

The setup runs directly on your own Google account — we don't store your tasks on our infrastructure, the script works where your data already lives.

02 — how it works

Three steps,
every 15 minutes.

The "Duo" model — the same one bāAlpha uses in all of its Notion ↔ Google integrations.

01every 15 min

Time-based trigger

A Google Apps Script wakes up every 15 minutes on your account and checks what changed on either side since the last run.

02Duo

Two-way sync

New, edited and completed tasks move both ways — Google Tasks ↔ your Notion Tasks database — recognizing which side changed most recently.

03log

Run log

Every run leaves a trace in the log — more than 12 hours of silence is the signal that something needs a look.

03 — what's included

A setup, not just code.

Deployed on your own Google account

The script and keys live with you — not on our infrastructure.

Mapping your task lists

We agree which Google Tasks lists correspond to which views in your Tasks database.

Protection against overwrites

A manual fix won't be undone by the next sync run.

Run log and a silence alert

You can see the sync is alive — and know when it stops working.

A short handover guide

You'll know what to do if you ever want to change something yourself.

Optional care plan

Monthly monitoring and small fixes — without a fresh setup from scratch.

Who it's for

Small business owners and teams who plan tasks on their phone through Google Tasks, but run their work and projects in Notion — and are tired of re-typing between them.

Part of the bāApps family

Orbit uses the same Notion ↔ Google integration model as the rest of the bāApps line — proven in bāAlpha's own daily operations before it went on sale.

Requirements: a Google account with Google Tasks, a Notion workspace with a Tasks database (we match the field schema during setup), any Notion plan — even the free one. We deploy on Notion by default. Using something else (e.g. Obsidian)? That works too — just tell us.
04 — pricing

One-time setup.
Care plan optional.

This isn't a tool subscription — it's a one-time setup of a configuration on your own Google account. You pay once for a working sync; the monthly care plan is an option, not a requirement.

  • Setup on your Google account, up to 10 task lists
  • Field mapping and two-way sync testing
  • Usually 2–3 business days from confirming scope
  • More lists or extra accounts — quoted individually

05 — questions

Before you order.

Yours. We deploy the script directly on your account — your data stays yours, and we don't retain ongoing access once setup is complete.

Usually 2–3 business days from confirming scope: configuration, list mapping, testing and handover of a working sync.

The standard setup covers up to 10 lists. More is quoted individually — write to us with your scope.

Orbit tracks which side changed most recently and syncs in that direction — it won't blindly overwrite a task you just edited by hand.

Limits come from daily Google Apps Script and Notion API quotas — in practice they comfortably cover a solo business or small team.

The script lives on your own account, so you can disable it yourself at any time — instructions are part of the handover.

Not necessarily. Notion is our default choice — you can check it out yourself before paying. We also deploy for other systems, like Obsidian — tell us what you use and we'll match it.

06 — contact

Describe your setup,
we'll quote it precisely.

Tell us how many lists you have and what your Tasks database looks like today — we reply within 2 business days.
